HOW IT CAME TO BE

The lake is for fishing, and for this.

01

The Need

Weiss Lake is an excellent spot for fishing and recreation on the water, and also offers many spots for reflection and tranquility that were not being used as such.

02

The Vision

The Sacred Place emerged from a partnership between the Cherokee County Civitan Club and the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, to celebrate the natural beauty of Cherokee County and give people a destination off an accessible pathway or trail. Designed for its community, it is also meant to promote a sense of agency and pride in the area.

03

The Transformation

The Sacred Place is nestled into a scenic overlook of Weiss Lake, tucked away from city noises.
