What happens here

The garden beckons the public to come, sit, unwind, think, pray, and meditate. Visitors often see people fishing for heron and local turtles basking in the sun. It is described as an ideal place for those with mental health issues because it sets up a therapeutic space, but overall it is a communal setting for anyone to relax and reflect.

HOW IT CAME TO BE

Named for the founder.

01

The Need

The SIFAT campus overlooks Mad Indian Creek, ground already surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of nature.

02

The Vision

The commemorative garden was named after SIFAT founder Sarah Corson, and built to invite people to leave their own mark on the peaceful space.

03

The Transformation

The garden contains engraved bricks left by those wishing to do exactly that, set overlooking the creek.
