HOW IT CAME TO BE

The visitor is the most important element.

01

The Need

The Fort Payne Walking Park needed a place of reflection within it.

02

The Vision

As Tim Harris, director of Fort Payne Alabama Mainstreet, describes it, one of the Life Garden's focuses is providing a place of reflection that defines the person entering as the most important element in the whole composition of the space. Everything else is arranged around that.

03

The Transformation

Three circular paths now run through the garden, representing the three stages of life: birth, life's journey, and rebirth. The design is built so no sensory detail is lost.
