HOW IT CAME TO BE
An apartment building stood here.
Drag to see the transformation.
01
The Need
The site was an abandoned one-acre brownfield in northern Baltimore City, where an apartment building had once stood.
02
The Vision
To turn it into an arboretum serving the range of groups who now use it.
03
The Transformation
The site now holds over 250 yards of trails infused with hundreds of native plant species, alongside interpretive signs, five seating arrangements, a tool shed with a green roof, a pond with a waterfall, a teaching tent, a water-collecting wheel, an entrance kiosk, and a pergola.
