What happens here

The garden is a place of solace and peace for patients and hospital staff, and for parents, friends, and family members who wish to honour the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death. The hospital holds an annual Walk to Remember ceremony for grieving parents and families.

HOW IT CAME TO BE

A longtime vision of the staff.

01

The Need

Families experiencing the loss of a baby had nowhere on the hospital campus to mark it.

02

The Vision

The garden was a longtime vision of the hospital staff, held over years before it became a reality.

03

The Transformation

The Memorial Loss Garden now sits in the Women's Pavilion of the hospital.

From the Little Yellow Journal

William & John, Mommy, Daddy + your sister Danielle are here today for "A Baby To Remember Service." It is always nice to celebrate "Our Angels." Though it has been so many years (14 + 17) it still hurts. We think of you both everyday. We love + miss you both very much.

– Love, Mommy
