What happens here

Staff and program participants use the space for lunch, to connect with a colleague or peer, and to feel the sunshine and cool breeze in the middle of a busy day. The nearby pavilion, which has lighting and power, is often used for parties and events, and the adjacent yard is a popular place for dogs and neighbourhood kids to play.

HOW IT CAME TO BE

More than a group of buildings.

01

The Need

Fello works with adults and children with disabilities, offering financial assistance, living options, and workforce development customized to each participant. At the time the Sacred Place was created, the organization was outgrowing a tiny location.

02

The Vision

Fello expanded to 19,000 square feet across three new buildings for administration, training, and collaboration, and a Sacred Place was part of the package rather than an addition to it. As CEO and Firesoul Jonathon Rondeau put it, the campus is more than just a group of buildings — it is a critical investment in the people and programs of Fello.

03

The Transformation

The Sacred Place sits on the Severn campus grounds. Two benches face each other so people can overlook the space while talking. For anyone who wants time alone, a gazebo sits just beyond the garden.
