McElderry Park needed a commons at its heart.

The Vision
Amazing Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the McElderry Park Community joined together on a project to build community and nurture life by creating a Sacred Community Commons for Healing and Peace.

The Transformation
The space holds community gardens, a perennial nursery, and a permanent outdoor labyrinth. Facing the Sacred Place is Amazing Grace Church's back wall, where a colourful mural was created by community members working with a local artist.
