HOW IT CAME TO BE
First of its kind in the Midwest.
01
The Need
The Academy for Global Citizenship is a Chicago Public Charter School on the underserved Southwest side, and its existing K-8 school was split under two roofs.
02
The Vision
AGC aims to foster systemic change in how society educates future generations and to produce a replicable model for learning, emphasizing the holistic growth of children — social, physical, linguistic, emotional, and cultural needs alongside academic development — and embracing the innate curiosity of children, the natural systems of the world, and the responsibility to make positive change. With Cultivate Collective, which brings a nature-based environmental education model, AGC is building a community learning, sustainability, and wellness hub.
