What happens here

The church hosts 12 service learning projects on the property, and the site sits along a walkway used by students from Clarksburg High School and Rocky Hill Middle School.

HOW IT CAME TO BE

Housing without the rest of it.

01

The Need

Clarksburg was largely undeveloped rural area until roughly ten years of swelling population growth brought a great deal of housing construction. The speed of that development left the area primarily residential without the supporting social infrastructure — no town centre, no transitway, nowhere to connect and gather. Adults can find community in nearby towns; young adults cannot.

02

The Vision

The Clarksburg Yard aims to fill that gap for the entire community, an intentional natural oasis in a town growing so fast there is very little green left. Because of its position along the student walkway, it is meant to be a stopping point where young people gather and linger.
