What happens here

The forest is both a gathering space and a passive park. Neighbors come to walk among native and pollinator-friendly plants, connect with nature and learn about local ecosystems.

HOW IT CAME TO BE

Take the invasives out first.

01

The Need

The Ravenswood Road site held invasive plant species. Casey Trees works to restore, enhance, and protect the city's tree canopy through planting, conservation, education, and ongoing care.

02

The Vision

A passive park showcasing native and pollinator-friendly species, offering the community opportunities to connect with nature and learn about local ecosystems.

03

The Transformation

Invasive plants have been cleared and native trees and plants brought back, creating a habitat that supports biodiversity, improves water quality and strengthens climate resilience. Today the site is a gathering space and a passive park that showcases native and pollinator-friendly species.
