What happens here

The four sites are already community hubs and resource centers, giving community members — particularly the sizable neighborhood youth population — a safe place to gather, volunteer, and be in nature.

HOW IT CAME TO BE

Four sites, one network.

01

The Need

The four sites CCD manages already function as community hubs but operate separately rather than as a connected network of green space.

02

The Vision

CCD is focused on creating an architecturally beautiful, healthy, diverse, cohesive community of choice built on mutual respect, holding that everyone in Baltimore shares responsibility to foster inclusivity and embrace diversity across race, gender, sexual orientation, and economic, educational, and housing choice. Its community model is one where residents both contribute to and benefit from a community that is self-sustaining economically, socially, and ecologically. Nature Sacred will provide a masterplan and site designs for all four, catalyzing CCD's ability to revitalize them together and galvanizing the community around a shared vision for equitable development. Part of the designs will honor the life and legacy of one of Irvington's Generals, Mr. George Little, who devoted much of his time to helping the neighborhood.
